Do I need standard definition Directv receiver if I have DVR with QAM tuner?
I have a DVR with QAM digital tuner and a TV definition standard. I'm thinking about getting Directv. I would like to be able to: 1) view HD transmissions (including the NHL Center Ice package) in the definition TV standard, 2) record one program while watching another show on DVR on TV If I have a satellite dish, DirecTV and paid subscription to Directv, do I need a receiver Directv or can the QAM tuner on my DVR essentially acts as the receiver?
QAM receiver is useless for satellite reception. Get the DVR DirectTV with two receivers and you will be ready.
