Help on buying ribbon cable?
I purchased an EIDE hard last night and was ready to install when I realized that I had a ribbon cable. I have online this morning to buy one and I'm finding a range of prices and descriptions despite all the pictures look the same. I know I need a 40-pin it has 3 connections. Even in the case of Dell I have two options: we / UDMA EIDE Round Ribbon Cable 2Drive 18 "or 18" dual Ultra ATA 33/66/100 INT / DMA EIDE Tape 3 CONN. Both are $ 10.99. Tripp Lite EIDE also found for $ 5.49. No description but it looks exactly like the other picture. Someone can help and offer a little advice about the best way to go? Thanks!
More likely is that just different models or different brands. They must work in the same way. But I would suggest getting the rounded cables instead of flat. have rounded wire together to provide better airflow within the box so that is cooler, are easier to manipulate and route, and they take up less space in the case.
