Do I need a phone line to set up and use my TiVo DVR?
I am moving to a new place and not want to set a phone line telephone company. but I have a TiVo DVR and still want to use. Is there any way to use a TiVo DVR, without having to pay the company phone?
if you have an Internet connection to broadband, you can use that instead of a phone line. need an ethernet adapter (the TiVo Web site lists a bunch of compatible USB adapters based on the TiVo model) and then just follow the instructions on the TiVo support site – which is quite easy to do.
