A smart antenna work with DTV converter box?

Currently I have a TV antenna normal rabbit for my TV converter box digital is better, rabbit ears antenna or smart?

I do not think I've ever been able to get my hands on a smart antenna. (A smart antenna is supposed to be able to adjust the best signal). I have seen pictures that they are supposed to work, but I've never seen one on the shelf. Smart antennas are supposed to work better than traditional rabbit ears.
