How I can program a "peanut" DirecTV TiVo remote?

I have the code, but do not know how to really get into my control remote. Television is LG and the remote control is a peanut-shaped TiVo for DirecTV device.

To program the remote to control your TV do the following: Go to Settings remote control. From TiVo Central, select Messages and Setup, then Settings, and then remote.
