Replacing the battery in an ac / dc Firex smoke detector?

I have an ac / dc Firex smoke detector was chirping. Since it is "logical wired ", I guess the battery voltage of 9 backup needs to be replaced. However, I can not get to it. There is a door that opens hinge small, and can open the door a little and see the inside of the battery – however, there is a connector that is superimposed on the hinge of the door and prevents opening the door enough to reach the battery. He is an instruction that states the battery, remove the connector to open the door, but I'll be damned if I can find a way to remove the connector. It has wires going into it, and I can not see any obvious way it fits in order to allow the door to open. Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated. Lee

The connector plugs Firex in.Just only pull it out with a little wiggle in and out of it and then can reach the battery.Have done many times. Good luck.
