Should I buy a splitter or an Ethernet switch network?

The divisor would be used to carry data in two PC via a physical cable. thus would not have to run two cables. 10/100 Mbps networks only use 2 pairs of wire and 4-pair Ethernet cable so you can separate them. you have to divide the two ends (ie the one end are two connections connected to two different ports on the switch, and the other end two connections connected to the PC, the only benefit is if it is a long cable run is done with a cable and then splits at both ends. Note that does not work for gigabit networks, because it uses gigabit all couples. since any new network should probably consider gigabit networks, I recommend not using a splitter and run two cables. but it that PC networked together that would not help anyway, because you still need a switch / router to connect each PC for each device to connect to each other.
