How to wire a single 4ohm DVC sub mono amp?
How do i wire this sub to match the number of the sub 4ohm 500RMS want to a mono amp that makes 500 RMS @ 4ohm?
There is no way to wire a single 4 ohm DVC sub to present a 4 ohm load other than using only one the voice coil. With two voice coils can be connected to 2 ohm (coils in parallel) or 8 ohm (coils in series). Some people claim to use usually only a coil in DVC subs without problems, but I do not know. I've never used that way. The purpose of having two voice coils in the first place, is to provide different configurations wiring. And you will halve the power with only one coil is used. The best solution would be to run a pair of 4 ohm DVC subwoofers can be connected to present a 4 ohm load. But if you use just the sub, then wire the voice coil in the series and give the amp an 8 ohm load. There will be less energy the submarine, but the amplifier does not draw excess current causes it to overheat and fail.
