TV antenna – outdoor?
After I lost the digital conversion channel 11 and 5 was a little agitated. I changed my outdoor antenna very old with a new VHF Winegard HD8200U High Definition Platinum Series / UHF TV. I have about 40 feet of antenna cable television. I have a big tree near the house. Now I have 11, but Channel 2 and 5 is gone is worse than before. I live 30 miles from Chicago, where most of the emissions source. What I can do? Also I remember hearing that all channels will eventually switch to UHF. Is that true? If so when and will that help my reception?
The HD8200U Winegard is a directional antenna, which means that the reception will vary depending on where you are targeting. Try turning it until you get the best reception in the channels you want to receive. Each channel is not changing to UHF, some are still in VHF, and for the most part, after June 12 are analog switch off all its final frequency.
