What is the best way to aim a satellite dish?
My satellite dish was hit by a piece of wood in a big storm. He hit azimuth off. The slope and elevation oesnt seem to be changed. What is the best way to get the azimuth back to the proper configuration. I called Dish Network and said it would cost nearly seventy dollors out of a technology. The song that paying now. Help?
I've been down this road – and not good. I tried using the signal meter on the screen while aligning the dish and its miserable – and just does not work! You really have to have a signal meter for this correctly – and I know you can not get it for $ 70 – unless you can find one used on Ebay – but even that is not an immediate solution because you still would have to wait to get it … this is what I did … I opened the yellow pages and found a local installer Sat and told them I needed my dish aligned. The guy said $ 40 would do it .. and he showed up at a time, engaged in line signal meter – lined plate to less than three minutes – and left. That is my suggestion.
