Aligning satellite dish?
I had satellite TV a couple of years ago, then my receiver broke and I went to cable. I recently bought a new receiver, but kept the old dish. For the last hour, I've been moving the dish around randomly trying to get a signal. Is there a faster way to do it? I found a website that gives me some angles, but I'm not sure what to do with them. These are the angles, and please be LNBF inclination (tilt): 26.9 In addition, what is the magnetic deviation? It says I should add 7 ° to my reading to obtain the magnetic azimuth the departure of my reading of the compass. Furthermore, if it matters, the dish is a "110.0W Echostar 8.10"
It's really hard to do for yourself. It The best you can do is look around your neighborhood and see which side dishes are pointing, taking into account that the points on the Dish Network will somehow DirecTV to get a better idea of the direction. Then have a partner to help control the signal strength on the TV while you get to the plate. The beam is quite big so that should not take long to find it. However, if you have HD then you are pretty much stuck with getting an installer to configure your plate as beam is so small that it never find it. Weeder
