Explain how the speech signal an analog telephone call is converted to a digital signal, the main steps involved in the conversion process, and why the bit rate need is 64 kbit / s. The explanation simple … The sound (any sound) is a composition of different frequency and amplitude (acoustic) waves. You have to set a speed for the sampling (bit rate). The finer the bit rate, the better quality you get. Quality means more data as well. More frequencies to the sample, more periods time, more data.
