How to obtain dual citizenship in the U.S. and Hong Kong?
My mother was born in Hong Kong (which falls in the age group that can get dual citizenship) my father, my sister and I were born in the U.S. my mother wants to get dual citizenship for the whole family, how can we get dual citizenship?
I do not know about his dad, but you and your sister could be applied if both are under 18 years. After 18 years, might be a bit more difficult. You must send a request to the Immigration Department. I think I probably have to go for a hearing to show who you really are a dependent of a resident Hong Kong permanent. I'm not sure about his dad because my mom never said and I got mine from what I read in people in Hong Kong trying to bring Mainland spouses had a very tough time. But then, it might be just to the mainland and that only my mother never bothered to make that her husband nonmainland. Perhaps others who are more familiar with it then I would be able to shred more light. : O)
