Please explain the need for barrel 3 GHz F-type connectors for cable TV?
I'm in the process of wiring a satellite TV room and the sellers told me I can not use the F-type coaxial cable standard. He said I need to buy special that handle more bandwidth. Is there some truth in this?
Coaxial cable comes in two sizes (thicknesses) for domestic use. RG-59 is the cheapest and lightest type, whereas RG-6 is the type commonly used for cable and satellite TV. While you have high quality connectors, RG-6 cable any size should do fine for connecting a satellite receiver a plate.
