If local channels are free (antenna), why dish / satellite networks charge a fee for local?
I mean you can see these local channels for free with an antenna (right (And hold the antenna if necessary) and watch the local news without having to pay anything extra? Note: Currently I have cable and was thinking of switching to a dish until I saw the extra charge for local channels.

Both cable and satellite have to pay to carry these signals are not free of them. may request an AB switch that allows you to change the satellite cable box or external antenna free of charge. Most people are too lazy to use the switch, but some TVs have multiple inputs
